Getting Started with LibGuides: An Introduction for Cheng Librarians: Images in Content Boxes

1. Create a new content box, if necessary.
2. Click the edit text link in the box to open the Rich Text Editor.
3. Click on the tree icon in the 2nd row of options.
4. Click on the red Click to upload an image… link.
5. Uploading an Image
• Click Browse and find the image on your computer.
• Click Upload Image.
6. Add an Image: click on the image from your personal image library (bottom of box).
7. The URL is automatically added on the Insert Image screen. You can now add any of the optional information (see below).

This is an example of an embedded image in a "Rich Text/Dynamic Content/Scripts" content box, where the Image Manager was used to upload the image. See the instructions above to upload images to the personal image library associated with your LibGuides account. Once uploaded, an image can be used in any of your Guides.

The code used to situate this image in this box is as follows:

Note that the style commands include values for:

• vertical-align
• float
• margin
• padding
• border

These are optional commands, but each can be useful in positioning an image within a content box, especially if you intend to include text in the box as well.
