CIA's Homepage for Kids
What does the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) do? Choose from the K-5th Grade or 6-12 Grade Homepages to learn about the CIA. Students can learn about the CIA Canine Corps or the investigate the CIA's Operation History. Other activities include "Try a Disguise," and "Break the Code." Teacher's page includes sample lesson plans for grades 5-12.

Community Club
Part of Scholastic's Listen and Read collection of short stories that young readers can read and/or listen to. The Community Club section includes eight community helpers. There is a quiz at the end of each story. Other subject areas covered are: American History, Animals, Civics and Government, Environmental Studies, Plants and Flowers, Science, and Social Studies

National Map -- Small Scale
A project of the United States Department of the Interior nationalmap.gov provides a variety of maps of the United States that can be printed on 8 1/2" x 11" paper. The maps represent climate, presidential elections, outline maps, satellite views, etc. These maps are considered part of the 1997-2014 Edition of The National Map.

Natural Disasters and Severe Weather
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have developed these tips for preparing for and recovering from natural disasters. The types of disasters include earthquakes, extreme heat, floods, hurricanes, landslides and mudslides, tornadoes, tsunamis, volcanoes, wildfires and winter weather.
