Welcome to the Historical Methods Research Guide!

This Guide is intended to help students in HIST 2600: Historical Methods design and carry out successful research projects on a topic in history. Each section of the course defines a broad subject area within which students can select a specific topic for their project, and this guide is for the section on United States history during the Age of Jackson.

Each page in this Guide covers finding tools for identifying and using both secondary and primary sources in history, with an emphasis on materials useful for topics in United States history in the 19th century.

If you have any questions moving forward, please feel free to contact me using the information on the right. I am happy to assist you with any aspect of your project.
