- Alphabet Books
- A selected list of all kinds of alphabet books, from books to teach young children how to identify letters to artistic interpretations of the alphabet. All titles are available in the Curriculum Materials Center of the Cheng Library.

- American Historical Fiction
- A selected bibliography of historical fiction from pre-revolutionary America to the early twentieth century. All titles are available from the Curriculum Materials Center of the Cheng Library.

- Arabs and Muslims: Their Culture Through Literature
- This is a selected list of juvenile books available in the Curriculum Materials Center at the Cheng Library that can be helpful when teaching about the culture of Arabs and Muslims in Grades K-12.

- Author & Illustrator Study: A guide to resources
- An Author Study researches the life and work of a children's or young adult book author or illustrator. This guide suggests strategies and resources to help complete this project. Resources can be found in the Curriculum Materials Center, as well as throughout the Library, or electronically.

- Caldecott Award Books
- The Caldecott Medal,established in 1938 by the American Library Association, is awarded annually to the illustrator of the most distinguished American picture book for children. Here is a list of winners, with call numbers, identifying titles available in the Curriculum Materials Center of the Cheng Library.

- CELL (Collaborative for Equity in Literacy Learning
- This website from Mount St. Mary College has lists of diverse literature. It includes booklists for meeting Common Core Standards, as well as books by and about African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, Special Needs children and LGBT.

- Cut Paper Illustrated Children's Books
- An annotated list of picture books that are illustrated using cut paper. All titles are available in the Curriculum Materials Center of the Cheng Library.

- Fractured Fairy Tales
- Each book on this list is an alternate telling of a popular children's story. Each title is labeled with the original story. All books are available in the Curriculum Materials Center of the Cheng Library.

- Graphic Novels
- The term, graphic novel, generally describes a book written in comic book format that follows the length and format of a novel, but may also depict historical events, great literature or a lengthy classic comic. Here is a list of graphic novels available in the David and Lorraine Cheng Library. Many are shelved in the Curriculum Materials Center, and others are in the general circulating collection on the Library's 2nd floor.

- A selected list of materials about Latin America and the Caribbean for PreK through Grade 12. Titles identified include picture books,novels, folklore, poetry and biography. - Mathematical Connections to Children's Literature
- A selected list of books that suggest ways to introduce, extend, or reinforce mathematical concepts and problem solving skills and strategies using children's literature for students from Kindergarten through grade 8. - The Newbery Medal, established in 1922 by the American Library Association, is awarded annually to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American Literature for children. Here is a list of Newbery winners, available with call numbers, identifying titles available in the Curriculum Materials Center of the Cheng Library.

- Notable Books for a Global Society
- "Annually, a committee of the CL/R SIG (Children’s Literature and Reading Special Interest Group) of the International Literacy Association selects 25 outstanding trade books for enhancing student understanding of people and cultures throughout the world. The committee reviews books representing all genres intended for students K-12."

- A cooperative effort between the National Science teachers Association (NSTA) and Children's Book Council (CBC), this annotated list describes outstanding science books for kindergarten through twelfth grade published in the last year.

- A selected list of fiction, nonfiction, poetry and biographies for students in the middle grades. All titles are available in the Curriculum Materials Center of the Cheng Library.

- Recommended Easy Reader Books
- First readers are intended for children at a first or second grade level that have a recognizable format and often belong to a series. This list is divided by Level A (First Steps), Level B (Gaining Confidence) and Level C (Taking Off). All titles are available in the Curriculum Materials Center of the Cheng Library.

- Science Books and Film (SB&F)
- Originally a print publication Science Books and Film is now in online format only. Published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), SB&F's expert reviewers critique books, DVD's, websites and other science resources for Kindergarten through college. Special features include the Annual AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prizes, and the Best Books list. Free registration is required to access some parts of the website, while other areas require purchase of a subscription.

- Words that Heal: Using Children's Literature to Address Bullying
- Part of Anti-bias lesson plans and resources for K-12 Educators developed by the Anti-Defamation League, Words that Heal includes many resources about using literature to reduce bullying. In addition to articles about why and how to use literature in the K-12 classrrom this website has lists of appropriate titles, discussion guides for specific titles, statistics, research, and teaching activities.
