Welcome to the POL 5010 Research Guide!

This Guide is intended to help students in POL 5010: Public Policy in the Age of Globalization carry out the major writing assignments for the course.

The required papers for the course call on you to develop the skills of public policy analysis, using some common formats, including

  • interpretive summaries of policy issues in the news
  • policy analysis briefs
  • case study analyses of a public policy issue
  • policy analysis research papers

Common sources for analyses of this type include daily news sources; government documents; academic research publications (books and articles); publications by public policy think tanks; publications produced by international, regional, national, and local non-governmental agencies involved in public policy; statistical compendia; and other sources.

See the tabs above for starting points and specific resources that can be useful in carrying out this research.

If you have any questions moving forward, please feel free to contact me using the information on the right. I am happy to assist you with any aspect of your research.
