Introduction to Jupyter Notebook - Feb. 5, 2021The Jupyter Notebook is an open-source web application that allows you to create and share documents that contain live code, equations, visualizations and narrative text. Uses include: data cleaning and transformation, numerical simulation, statistical modeling, data visualization, machine learning, and much more.
This introduction will provide examples of how you can incorporate Jupyter Notebook into your teaching and research. Led by Professor Tao Guo (Econ, Fin & Global Business) and Librarian Ray Schwartz, this interactive workshop will provide an overview and 3 tangible examples of how you can utilize Jupyter.
1. In-class demonstration of statistics, data visualization, and other learning content
2. Integration of open-source education material: interactive at the same time
3. Collaborative tool for research projects
Presenters:
Tao Guo, Assistant Professor, Department of Econ, Fin & Global Business
Ray Schwartz, Head of Library Information Systems, Cheng Library
