Real Men Read LogoThis library-led initiative program was launched in March of 2020 by Neil Grimes, the Curriculum Materials Librarian at William Paterson University to benefit schools and students that are a part of the Professional Development Schools Network in northern New Jersey.
Read, Excel, Achieve, and Lead (REAL) Men Read is a literacy program that provides community engagement from male mentors and helps to encourage young boys to read.
In 2021, all Real Men Read participants engaged in virtual readings through Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
