Welcome

This Guide is intended to help students in ARTH 1030: Art and Politics design and carry out successful research projects on a topic in art history. For the course you will be asked to carry out research and write a paper on an approved topic. Your paper will include an analysis of one or more works of art within the scope of the course and provide a discussion of both the historical context and political significance of your selected work(s).

Each page in this Guide covers finding tools for identifying and using both secondary and primary sources in art history and politics, with an emphasis on materials useful for topics in the course.

If you have any questions moving forward, please feel free to contact me using the information on the right. I am happy to assist you with any aspect of your project.
