Federal Legal Resources in Nexis Uni

Similar to searching Nexis Uni  for NJ Legal resources, you want to use the Guided Search feature to search for federal cases.  

TOPIC OR KEYWORD SEARCH

  • To locate statutes, search for United States Code. This will allow you to just search for federal legislation.  Enter your search terms and view your results. The table of contents feature in the USCS is very helpful. 
  • For codes (regulations), search for the Code of Federal Regulations.   Enter your search terms and view your results. The table of contents feature in the code is very useful. 
  • Links are embedded throughout cases, statutes and codes and you may find them useful. Also be sure to use the email, save and print features within the database.

The United States Code is the codification of all federal laws.

The Code of Federal Regulations is the codification of rules issued by federal departments and agencies of the government.
