The most important part of any academic research is to have a solid understanding of your topic, from trusted information sources.  Using Google or Wikipedia might seem like the easiest option, but can you really trust everything you find there?

This guide will help you to get started with your COMM100 research, by directing you to select resources that can be a great help in supporting your argument, as well as learning counter-arguments to address!

Library research is difficult. There are so many different places and sources to search. It is hard to know where to start.

The new Search All does exactly that - provides a great starting point for research. There's one search box that searches our library catalog for books, e-books, videos and music; but also our databases for journal article content. Our digital archives (WPUNJ campus newspapers, course catalogs, yearbooks, and history) are also included in the search.

You'll find a number of facets, or limiters, along the left side of your results list. Use these to refine your search to the type of material you seek (book, articles, etc.) and also limit to a date range, library location, or other filters.
